Environmental Youth Alliance Seed Exchange

The Environmental Youth Alliance is holding a seed exchange. The emphasis is on exchange, so no money will be trading hands, only seeds. Everyone is welcome to attend, even those who have no seeds to trade as you’ll still be able to get your hands on some free seeds!

Seed Starting Workshop

As a part of South Vancouver Neighbourhood House’s Food Security Workshops, they will be hosting a free seed starting workshop.   Learn to grow seeds indoors, take home your own seed pots with a variety of vegetables, herbs and edible flowers

You can join the South Vancouver Neighbourhood House once a month for workshops all about FOOD. Learn from experts how to grow, enjoy and save your harvest. Workshops are 1-2 hours and are at SVNH or in the South Van area. Meet new people and have fun! All ages are welcome

Maximum Balcony Harvest Workshop

Growing vegetables in containers can provide you with plenty of fresh food if you do it correctly. Learn how to get the most out of your balcony or patio by using vertical space resourcefully, selecting appropriate types and combinations of plants and containers, and more. Bring a photo of your balcony to share and get personalized advice.  This class will be taught by April Reeves.

The Great Turning, An Un-Conference to be the Change

Spring Fling

Cedar Cottage Garden’s Spring Fling, a celebration of gardens and community, will be taking place on May 1st in the garden plaza on Victoria Dr @ Hull. The afternoon will be filled with opportunities to mingle and meet new neighbours, and to enjoy entertainment and garden tours. Drop by for some baked goods, a plants and seedlings sale, an arts and crafts market, and plenty of activities for children.
